We will look after the small everyday moments of our citizens, and be a warm council that connects heart to heart.
Dear and beloved citizens of Goyang Special City, I am KIM MI SOO, chairman of Goyang Special City Council.
The direction our council pursues does not lie in grand slogans.
A safe neighborhood where our children can play without worry, childcare and welfare settings where seniors and the vulnerable are not left out, and the small everyday inconveniences of the daily commute and our own front doors, resolved one by one: we believe this is the most precious work a council can do.
The chairperson’s seat is not a position for exercising power; it is a seat for helping the 34 city council members you have directly elected, and carefully supporting them, so that they can fulfill their roles.
The council will be a steadfast source of support so that all 34 members, as the citizens’ precious spokespeople, can hear the vivid voices from the field.
Not administration from behind a desk: we will always be in step with citizens in the places closest to them.
We will go even to the shaded corners where the sun does not reach to listen, think at citizens’ eye level, and pour our whole hearts into every single ordinance and every line of the budget.
So that when this term ends, we may remain in your memory as “the council with the lowest threshold” and “a council to be thankful for, one that warmly changed my life,” we will always work on our feet, in a spirit of humility.
With all my heart, I wish every citizen’s family health, laughter, and warm happiness always.
